Grants for musicians 2020

You can’t have a blog post about blogs without mentioning Earmilk. Spanning several genres, Earmilk is one of the top destinations for any emerging or nationally recognized artists to land their music, which also makes it one of the best places to discover new music. Boasting their own playlist featured with talent like Kendrick Lamar and Travis Scott, Earmilk also blogs quite a bit with premieres, reviews, and general hip-hop news.  While they primarily feature artists you’ve already heard of, every now and again an underground artist will sneak in.

I’d say my biggest accomplishment was completing a two-week European tour through Italy and Austria with the modern jazz group PLS.trio, where I played some of the most challenging music I’ve ever played with some of the most talented, virtuosic players I’ve had the pleasure of sharing a stage with, but I could still hang and hold my own—even while playing to large crowds. I felt on top of the world at the end of that tour.

2020 nea global fellowship

In a world fraught with political turmoil, broken up by war, and torn apart by loss, the absurd, lighthearted mountain music of Takeo Ischi more poignant and essential than ever. I mean, if the news has got you down (and how can it not), just take a break and watch this. You’ll feel much better, trust me.

Now, if we apply the same reasoning to all the other modes, we would see that the differences between the modes and their respective Major or Minor counterparts is often only one note (with one exception, which we will see shortly).
